InsyaAllah I will be exercising my rights again this year to vote. So, YB or YB hopefuls, if I am in your territory, BE NICE..heheh.. Have yet to learn who would be contesting in that area, but I have more or less decided on the party..hehe..

I was registered as a voter in 1999, exactly on my 21 years of age but sadly was not allowed to vote because when the 10th election came about, my name was still not registered with SPR. Funny and strange, but true.

Came the 11th election in 2004, I was totally excited to vote for the first time. Although my I/C address was same with my parents, I had to cast my vote at a different area from them. Could still remember that I was a bit nervous while casting my vote. Siap menggeletar lagi..hehe..

So, people who have registered, please exercise your rights and vote. While many of us know that politics are dirty whatsoever, we have the power to change. And if you are not registered yet, please do after this so that come the 13th election time you can vote. I am also not into politics but if the decisions of the elected politicians affect my life and I am not happy about it, then I am not happy about it. If I am the only person who vote differently, at least they know that there is a single soul who doesn't agree with their ways. And they should try to win the single soul's heart so that during the next election, the single soul would convert and support them. The elected politician should serve the people, not serve his own pocket or his families.

My 2 cents.. But I am definitely voting this year, InsyaAllah.

p/s: I hate weak leaders. If all of us wants something and you let them have their own ways, memang huru hara la macam sekarang ni. Semua orang nak demand something. And those nuisance only make other innocent people's lives miserable. Macam mana nak puaskan hati semua orang? Pandai-pandai lah sedar diri masing-masing dan jangan jadi kaduk naik junjung.. Or diberi betis nak peha pulak etc! Macam cerita P Ramlee Anakku Sazali la...Semua dia nak dapat, last-last dah besar jadi anak derhaka. Bapak jugak yang menyesal dan dipersalahkan..betul tak?

Hari yang Letih

I walked a few kilometers today. Seriously!

The day started relatively early since I was supposed to attend a training on a software that I hope to sell to a new lab setup in a certain Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi. But I was informed at the very last minute to attend another meeting with Tan Sri for another project. We have been counting the days for this project to materialize, so I had no choice but to attend the meeting with Tan Sri.

It was just horrible to get into KL that morning that I had to drive around KL for 3 times trying to find the way to get inside and try to be at the meeting by 9.30am. Finally managed to get through but the meeting had already started when I got there. Lucky that another partner was there to hear the briefing, and I managed to join in later when they took a breather.

Then we needed to walk to another building because Tan Sri's company just moved there to have a one-to-one meeting with the person in-charge. It was about 1km walking distance to go to the other buiding. When the meeting was over, we had to walk back to the old building to take the car. Was charged RM18 for the parking. I agreed to send my partner back to his office at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng and then head straight to the other meeting that I needed to abandon earlier.

Just as we were about to reach KLCC, the person that we met just now called and asked us to return to his office because apparently he said his superior wanted to see us. No choice, so we had to turn around. This time we parked the car at the new building. But alas! When we got up, we were told that his superior wanted to meet us at the old building! Kena jalan jugak! hehe..

When we reached at the meeting place, the Boss was still in a meeting with Tan Sri, so as usual we had to wait. Then came lunch time, so we were told that the meeting will take place after lunch. Had a quick lunch downstairs, and then waited for our turn to meet with the Boss. When we cam back up, the Boss said, "Let's have the meetings at my new office ok?" Huh? So menapak la kitorang lagi to the new building..

After an eternity of waiting, and when it was just about our turn to 'mengadap' the Boss said, "Sorry la..Saya dah penat sangat ni. (To his staff that we had met earlier), You settlekan la dengan yang tinggal ni ya?" Duh! And we waited the whole day for nothing? Hai sabar je lah...Nasib baik la memang tunggu this project to materialize je, so no choice but to play their game lah. And lucky that the other party in the meeting that I was supposed to attend understood my situation and didn't mind that I didn't turn up for their meeting.

This time we were charged RM28 for the parking. Duh?

PMS ke hapa? Asyik nak marah jer..

Well, it's definitely NOT PMS. It's just people who didn't do their work properly and made other people's lives miserable.

Copy of my online complaint to the supposedly 'global market leader in international express, overland transport and air freight. It is also the world's number 1 in ocean freight and contract logistics'

I would like to express my utter disappointment with your services regarding our shipment with the AWB#1011771180. It was shipped by our supplier on Feb 13, 2008 and reached your facilities the next day. We have not received any words from any of your staffs since, and after numerous calls to your toll-free line, I learnt that the shipment was under clearance delay because the LPO copy that was attached with the shipment was not clear.

I had immediately faxed the copy of the LPO again, attention to K**** as instructed by I**. I** had then called me to confirm that the LPO copy was received and necessary action would be taken immediately. At the end of the day, all I could see from the website was still CLEARANCE DELAY. I had called the toll free line again the next day, and was informed that the shipment would be transferred to your service centre immediately.

Last night, after again seeing the same status on the website, I called again and was told to call again this morning. This morning I received a call from N******, saying that I had to pay RM1K++ for duties. Didn't the LPO mean anything? She said she needed to check back with K****.

I called her in the afternoon (since I have her handphone no from previous same devastating experience with another shipment) and she said that she had not received any reply from Subang yet. I** called me in the late afternoon asking whether I had received my shipment, and by that time I was so annoyed and bored with the same conversations repeated endlessly. She told me that in the report stated that I refuse to pay the duties, hence the shipment is being on hold.

First of all, didn't the LPO from Universiti XX mean anything?

Secondly, who fax to us the paperwork for the duty? Do you have proof that it was EVER faxed? We never received any.

Thirdly, who gave you the consent to clear the shipment with duties? Do you have any proof that Preferred Vision approved the duties in the paperwork and asked you to clear the shipment with duties? And why should we pay the duties when we have given the copy of the LPO TWICE?

Forthly, why didn't Subang's rep call me in the first place, immediately when the shipment was under clearance delay on Feb 14, 2008? Why must I have to call the toll-free numbers so many times with so many empty promises?

The shipment is URGENT and we actually needed to send it to UXX on the Feb 14th itself. It is already 20th and the matter is yet to be solved and I have been bounced here and there by your staffs. If we need to pay penalty for late delivery to our client, shall we charge it back to you for such lousy services? And, this is not the first time it happened to us. You can check your records on how many times that we have used your services and not all were smooth sailing.

We expect the shipment to arrive in our office tomorrow (Feb 21st) by hook or by crook. Don't bother to call me if you cannot resolve the matter as how it was supposed to be resolved.

The costs of THE CATS' poo poo

Referring to the previous entry

Apparently, to eliminate THE smelly problem, I'll have to sacrifice RM1.5K (plus small fixes here and there).

Heck! I'd rather part with the RM1.5K than suffer the consequences. The contractor starts work in 2 days..

Inconsiderate neighbor

I wrote a while back about the jungle in our lawn due to the 'love of planting but lazy to maintain the plants' attitude. That problem has been solved by me chopping off the unwelcomed plants.

We have another problem now. A very smelly problem. You see, they have tens of cats kept as pets. While I don't hate cats (although I am quite allergic to them), I really HATE (in bold AND capital letters) their leftovers aka poo poo aka litter! ESPECIALLY when they left them all in my lawn and backyard!

Excuse me CATS and CATS' owner. My house is not your/your pets' toilet!!!!

I had plans to grow a little vege and herbs garden behind the house, but because of the severe problem, now I am seriously thinking of putting cement all through the backyard so that the cats cannot litter in my compound. And that involves more $$!

Seriously, I don't have anything againts you keeping as many cats as you wish (or other pets for that matter) But, please keep them in your part of the neighborhood, not on somebody else's. Please be considerate.

Currently, my day job includes disposal of cats' litter and it's really not pleasant at all! Flies are threatening the house terribly now and we couldn't have any meals without the agony of the smell and the flies.

Now, do tell me how do I end my misery? I just couldn't wait until their new house is ready (currently under renovation) so that they can pack up and leave with all their pets. But we seriously don't think that they will bring together all the 20+ cats that they have, so if there are any cats left later, I will personally take the liberty to dispose them to the SPCA or something. I don't mean to be cruel, but it would be so much better than some other bad thoughts that I sometimes have while disposing their poo poo! heheh!

Chinese New Year Holiday

Ya, ya... I know it's very late, but I just didn't have the will power to update this blog.

We actually had a great Chinese New Year holiday this year. It involved a lot of travelling (and eating) in the span of 3 days.

Wong Fei Hung in action:

First day of CNY, as usual, we headed down south for our "makan besar" gathering with the Chinese clan. The traffic was quite bad at certain unusual places, and we reached Ayer Keroh at about 4pm. After the customary limau, kacang and keropok eating session, we went to a Chinese restaurant for a 6-course lunch cum dinner.

Banyaknya melantak.. hehe..

After the meal was over, we started our journey back to Abah's hometown in Kulai, Johor. But not before taking the opportunity to take photos with the lion! (Courtesy of my 2 handsome cousins)

We reached Nenek's house at about 9.30pm. Makan lagi! Then, terus pengsan for the rest of the night. Oh ya! I drove all the way, y'know!

The next afternoon, I had to go to JB to pass something to a client. The whole clan plus Nenek and Tok Mok tagged along. We then visited our Noyang's cemetary at Tampoi before stopping for a short while at Danga Bay. No stroller, and Daniel refused to walk on his own equalled tak larat nak jalan jauh-jauh.

On the day that we were supposed to go back to KL (Saturday), Nenek asked us to join her to attend a wedding of a distant relative of my late grandfather. We didn't really know them, but since Nenek insisted, we went along.

So, apa lagi? Macam pacat lah. Lepas makan terus blah...hehe...Tapi sempatlah berkenal-kenalan and bergambar dengan sedara mara yang tak dikenali.

Daniel boring tunggu bila nak balik?

On the way back to KL, we made a pit stop at Ayer Itam. Shopping time! Yeahoo!

Daniel on the way to Ayer Itam

Membeli, memborong dengan dahsyatnya sampai dua kereta pun tak muat. Nasib baik dah penuh and jauh lagi perjalanan. Kalau tidak, mau sambung lagi shopping!

We reached Klang at about 10pm. Rushed to my bro-in-law house to send him, my sis and daughter back and also for a makan-makan session (again?) in conjunction with BIL's mother's birthday. After makan, we again became pacats and sped up to my new PH house to unload all the stuffs that I bought in Ayer Itam and also the many, many plants that Mak and Abah took from Nenek's garden in the kampung.

Satisfying (the shopping and eating parts) although tiring (travelling and driving parts). Only wished that we could explore more of Danga Bay. The traditional houses there were really nice. Next time must go there again with Hubby and Daniel.

Hari Ini Saya Terkejut..

Today is Hari Wilayah. It's an official public holiday in KL, Putrajaya and Labuan (as if you all didn't already know). And although today is a public holiday in KL, I still had to attend a training session in UTM KL. What made it such a great day was the traffic was clear! Sungguh tidak tension memandu di KL pada hari ini..muehehehe..

Anyway, back to why I was stumped just now. There were two trainers conducting the training. One of them was my colleague from old office, and another was the new staff they hired to replace me (initially planned to take care of sales operation in KL but the plan was cancelled and he was asked to remain in Penang).

My colleague from old office had just finished her session and passed the floor to this new guy (he had been with the company for 8 months now). We were chatting at the back of the room while he was delivering the speech in front of the other audience. I was asking my friend on how to choose good quality Mandarin oranges from the different types of cartons they come in and she was about to reply when we heard a loud thud in front.

There it was! The new chap had fell flat onto the floor without any warning! All of us rushed forward to see what happened to him and I had all kinds of pictures inside my head. Had he suffered a heart attack? Did he faint? Was he having a seizure? Did he bump his head to the desks in front of him? Panic woo!

Apparently everyone of us had never encountered such incident so everybody was stunned. Then, I asked them to give him some space and air. Luckily he was ok just a few minutes afterward. According to him, it was the first time it happened to him and he had no idea what had caused the incident. Maybe it was because the room was a bit warm due to the malfunction of the air-conditioner. Maybe he suffered extreme panic attack for having to do presentation in front of an audience (he was just asked to start doing sales instead of technical support). Maybe he didn't get enough rest the day before. I don't know.

Moral of the story: Make sure you get enough rest before doing your presentation. And, if you suffers from panic attack, take a deep breath or ask for 5 minutes break before you reach your extreme panic level. Don't put hazard on yourself, especially if you are only an employee. Tak berbaloi!

Missing you so much!

Mendua - Hampir Ke Situ

Aku sadar bukan mudah
Untuk mengejar mimpi indah
Pernah suatu ketika dulu
Ku punya harapan besar
Kini aku tak pasti
Dapatkan ku miliki

Sudah jauh kita tempuh
Kekalkanlah impian lalu
Mungkin ada hikmat
Yang akan menunggu
Di penghujung jalan
Biar nanti kecewa
Setidak-tidaknya mencuba

(korus)
Jika halangan menduga perjalanan kita
Janganlah kau putus asa
Karena ku ada di sisi setia menemani
Andai semangatmu gugur
Genggamlah tanganku
Kita hampir ke situ

Adakala ku terasa
Ketabahan tak setegar
Tetapi apakan daya
Berhenti separuh jalan
Percayalah padaku
Aku yakin kita mampu

(ulang korus)

Biar orang katakan
Rapuhnya harapan
Bukan mereka tentukan lagi
Kau ada aku dan aku punya kamu
Amanlah akhirnya tetap bersama
Oh…

(ulang korus)
