Plagued..and sad...

We've been plagued with sickness lately. First, it was Yusuf Firdaus with high fever for 5 days. Then, Daniel Hafiz got the flu. And as usual, whenever my kids got sick, I would be sick too, although when I got sick, they usually didn't. Which is good, actually, because as you all know very well, taking care of sick children require extra strength and patience, which I do not have whenever I got ill.

And after almost 3 weeks, I still have the remaining of the flu and cough. Maybe the immune system has receded tremendously with the pregnancy, labour and breastfeeding. Which means, I should start taking extra supplements and vitamins. Lucky for me that Mr Hubs came home for a two-week R&R, which means extra hands and more TLC for us.

Hubby went to his new site in KSA yesterday, leaving me alone with the two angels. On the way back home from the airport, Yusuf Firdaus cried inconsolably in his carrier at the back seat of the car. Tried soothing him with the pacifier to no avail. I finally decided to park my car at the side of the highway, switched on the hazard light, went to the back seat of the car, lock the car and BF'ed him there and then. I have never done this in my entire life heheh..

And last night, I have never felt more lonely in my life. Seeing the two boys asleep, I felt loss, helpless and alone in the house. I was also anxiously waiting for Hubby's call to say that the had arrived safely at the new site. Finally fell asleep at about 2 am. He didn't manage to call, but did SMS informing that he has arrived and couldn't get through the line to call me. Alhamdulillah..

And, Yusuf Firdaus was down with fever again. Maybe it's the changing of the month, or he misses his Ayah, I do not know. He has been crying since this morning, and required cuddling every other minute. My back is aching, I didn't get the chance to prepare any meals for myself (lucky Daniel Hafiz was at school) and I felt so tired and frustrated. And there was nobody to share the workload with me. I finally broke down in tears a few hours ago. Just to release the pressure from my aching heart and tired body. Yusuf Firdaus finally fell asleep at about 9.30pm and I finally got the chance to have a proper meal for the day. Alhamdulillah...

I meant to do some paperwork but my eyes are just too tired. Perhaps I should go to bed now and rest before Yusuf Firdaus wakes up for his feeds. Guess the paperwork would have to wait for another day. They have been overdue for many days, anyway..

Well, hoping for a brighter and 'sick-less' day tomorrow, insyaAllah...amin....

Tunisia, you said????

From Tunisia.com dated Jul 2008

The Global Peace Index: Tunisia is ranked the 2nd in Africa and the 5th in the Arab countries

Tunisia is classified among many other countries about the level of peace and stability in the world. according to a report done by the Global Peace Index, Tunisia , ranked the 44th at the international level, is the second in Africa after Botswana, and the fifth in the Arab world after Qatar (16th) Oman (21st), the UAE (40th) and Kuwait (42nd).

Tunisia which reached a score of 1698 points, is ahead of other countries such as Greece (57th ) and the United States of America (83rd ) . New Zealand is at the top and is considered as the most peaceful and stable country followed by Denmark and Norway.

The report, which has been elaborated jointly with The “Economist Intelligence Unit'', based its analysis on the situation of peace and stability in 144 countries around the world that revolve around several criteria, including
democracy status , the degree of security for foreigners, level of corruption, government efficiency, the people’s cohesion and integration , international relationships , investments climate , the involvement of countries in armed conflict and the level of military spending.

This is good, right? I am of mixed emotions now....

4 years...

....of mixed emotions, ups and downs, fights and make-ups, laughters and tears..

We celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary earlier this month. Well, not really celebrating in style or whatever, just us commemorating the years that we have spent together (bearing in mind also that we were apart for more than 2 years...hehe....)

Four years might be short or might be long, depending on our own perspectives. Sometimes we felt that it was only yesterday that we cut our wedding cakes and all, and sometimes it felt like ages ago (especially when we were having fights...hehe).

We might think that four years are quite a long period to know your spouses inside out. But for us, we are still in the learning process. We learn something new about the other half every other day. And we are still in the process of adapting to each other. So, to me, if some couples in love claimed that they knew each other inside out, they are soul mates yadda..yadda before they get married, boy, I think they have to really re-evaluate their notions...hehe...

Some times I do feel that my husband really knows me. Heck, he even knew when I was about to be visited by THAT friend every other month a few days beforehand. Even I didn't keep track. I guess it must have been the changing of behaviour and mood swings...hehe....

I also have a lot to cope in the food and drinks department, i.e what he likes and dislikes, how he likes his food to be cooked and drinks to be made etc. Like the other day, I just found out that he also loves to eat cili potong with hirisan bawang besar in kicap...just like I do. And after four years? Even I was amazed...hehe...

Anyway, here's hoping for more years happily together (boy I just hate it when we fight..and YES...we do fight A LOT!!!!) Maybe because I am hot headed and I do like to stand up for my thoughts (which could be so annoying to him..biasalah ego lelaki kan?)

But I am more mellow now (dah tua maaa...) so I know better when to speak or shut up, and I know when would be the right moments to bring some things up for discussion. And I think we are a lot better now.

So, Happy Anniversary darling (albeit a little late) and I hope we will continue to grow our love, commitment and understanding towards each other... May we improve ourselves and our bad habits to better accommodate each other so that we can lead a peaceful and meaningful live together...And may Allah bestow upon us all His blessings until the end of time...Ameen...

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

All good things must come to an end...

Yup, Hubby is going away again. We actually had longer time together than planned for the Raya holidays. Alhamdulillah for that. His passport was submitted for the visa application for his next assignment. Where to this time? Halfway across the globe! And this afternoon, we received news from his office that his visa is ready for collection, so this honeymoon need to be ended because he needs to return to HCMC to finish off his work there.

I want to follow him. I might, eventually. But, I need to settle many, many things here first before I can go with ease of mind. But then again, I might not be going after all. I don't know. Only time will tell, I think. We will definitely miss him sorely, because if I were to go also, he would go there first to survey the situation there. And during the waiting period? Hmm..

Communications will be difficult, because we would be in a totally different time zone. Haih! So many things to think about. We would be separated for 6 months until his next rest period. Lama tu! At least during his stint in HCMC, I went there after 3 months. Then he returned home 3 months later for his rest period. 3 months after that came the Raya holidays and he returned home. So, we have never really actually been separated for a whole 6 months. Aduiii....

Anybody ever heard about this town???

Nothing much about it has been written in the web. I'm stumped. Where to get the info lah?

Adios 2007, Hola 2008!

Just finished talking with Hubby in Saraburi, Thailand where he was waiting for the New Year fireworks display at the town of KK2. Told him that we have finished the fireworks show here, forgetting that we are 1 hour earlier than them..hehe...Hubby's last few words just now: "Happy New Year! I love you" made the tears stung at the back of my eyes..tsk..tsk..

Anyway, it was quite a celebration just now around the area that we are living in at the moment. Fireworks, mercun, bom semua ada daaa... Being near a sea port, the scene is very common, be it any celebration. But, I seriously think just now was a tad too intense compared to all the recent celebrations..hehe..Happy sangat la tu masuk new year!

Of course I am praying for a more prosperous year ahead; both duniawi and ukhrawi's sides. And am definitely resolving to be a better wife and mother. Not planning for a second baby yet, but the plan might change somewhere along the year, who knows?

And jeng..jeng..jeng.. I resolve to look more fantastic...chewwah!! Yeah, I know I'm getting there (Three-Oh) really, really soon, but I refuse to let the age catching up or at least showing up on me..kekeke.. (Am I in denial here?) No botox or vitamins injection of any kinds lah, but I want to look young (and stay healthy) as long as I can and if (and when) I do get wrinkles here and there, I would prefer to let them not showing themselves off! hahaha! Of course if we don't have the plan to have baby no 2 yet, I definitely want to slim down and burn the stubborn fats all around my body..Now, how do I do that again?

So, there you go! My resolution for year 2008. The third one might be so daft to some of you, but then again, Suka lah!!!

Happy New Year everybody! Don't forget the Hijrah year also. We will celebrate it (hopefully with the same bang!) on the 10th of January 2008, InsyaAllah. Recite the Ya-Sin 3 times and don't forget the end of the year and beginning of the year's do'a! May you all achieve whatever you have dreamed of and have a great year ahead!
